"Bani Thani, an iconic Indian Art figure, is seen putting down her lotus and getting prepped to provide medical care to COVID-19 patients. The three pairs of hands helping her are a symbolic representation of how we can assist our “warriors” (medical care workers) in this battle.
The first set of hands symbolizes how we should follow the necessary guidelines set out by the government regarding lockdown and social distancing; the second, what we could do to help our essential workers and medical staff financially by donating so that they can purchase protective gear; and the third, the moral support we provide our front line workers and medical staff. The minutes of clapping and candle lighting are not empty gestures but rather a whole nation nation coming together and recognizing the efforts and sacrifices being made."
