Portraits of the Frontline

by Julia Maddalina

Portrait Artist and illustrator, Ann Arbor, MI

"Painting portraits has always been the most fulfilling for me, and my education in illustration has since broadened my perspective on what I can do with my artwork.

Like many artists weathering the shelter in place orders, I am creating artwork inspired by the events happening all around us. Through my portraits, I aim to tell the stories of the healthcare workers on the frontline of the pandemic."

"Shortage of protective equipment & mental health are the two biggest issues facing frontline workers.

Thank you for doing this."
